New Design Museum
Today we visited the new Design Museum in Kensington. We had been frequent visitors when it was located on Butlers Wharf by London Bridge, and we have been counting down the days for the new incarnation to open. Fortunately we signed up for membership in advance, and we were able to bypass the huge queue of people who had also been counting down the days (over 150 people, it stretched out to Kensington High street).
One of the first areas we went to go and see was the new members lounge. As we live and manage fte locally, this facility is likely to be one that we will use a lot for work and for meetings. It did not disappoint, we enjoyed a pot of tea and looked out over the views of Holland Park.
We are going to go back as soon as the crowds die down to check out the exhibition in more detail. First impressions were really good, and I can see it becoming an iconic London landmark for many years to come.
