Customisation
CAN I SWAP STRAPS, OR BUY A STRAP IN A DIFFERENT SIZE OR COLOUR?
During the first phases of Freedom To Exist, we won’t be able to offer any customisations or sell straps separately. We are in the process of developing a complete range of straps that are interchangeable with all of the FTE watches. We encourage you to pick your favourite watch, sign up to our newsletter and we’ll let you know as soon as we have straps available.
Technical Specs & Materials
BATTERY
First of all, you’ll need to remove the pin from the crown to activate the battery. Once you’ve done that, you should have between three and four years of power (depending on how hot or cold it is where you are). Once your battery is finished, you’ll be able to get it replaced in any reputable watch repair shop for only a few pounds/dollars. We use silver oxide cell batteries (otherwise known as a standard button cell).
MECHANISM
We selected the Swiss-made Ronda 763.3 mechanism for our timepieces, due to their accuracy, high quality and reliability.
STRAP
All of our straps use genuine, premium leather. We spent a lot of time choosing the correct colours and textures for every strap, to ensure that they perfectly complement each watch. Our Tan Leather is italian, and in our specification below you can see the closest Pantone reference for each strap. We also apply a TEX 5 Nano technology solution to the strap to make it more hard wearing and robust.
STRAP Length - 30 Edition
Caters for the 153mm to 203mm wrist.
STRAP Length - 40 Edition
Caters for the 163mm to 213mm wrist.
WATCH LENS
We use a domed hardened mineral crystal on our watches. It is robust and resistant to scratches and normal wear and tear, but as with anything special, it should be used with care.
CASE
All of our cases are made from hardwearing 316L Stainless Steel, designed to stand up to daily use. You can find specific specs for each watch on the product page.
SILVER WATCH
The silver FTE case uses quality 316L Stainless Steel and are non-plated. They are brushed and polished as part of the production process.
ROSE GOLD/GOLD/GUN METAL
The rose gold and gold FTE case uses ion plating - the most advanced surface finishing processes in the trade. Ion plating is up to eight times more durable and wear resistant and frankly it looks the best too.
WATER RESISTANCE
Our watches are classified as ‘water resistant 3ATM’ - which means they’re suitable for everyday use and are splash and rain resistant, but shouldn’t come into direct contact with water (which means no showering, washing up and definitely no swimming). You can find the water resistance rating on the back of the case too. Of course, natural ageing as well as wear and tear can impact the watch’s water resistance, and any resistance rating is for the case only - you should avoid getting the leather strap wet if possible.

ALLERGIES
Leather allergies
Our straps are made using genuine leather and are chromium-tanned so can, on rare occasions, cause a reaction for people with a sensitivity. We advise you to check with a doctor before purchase if you have a sensitivity to leather or chromium-tanned products.
Nickel allergies
All of our watch cases and fastenings may contain trace amount of nickel. We advise you to check with a doctor before purchase if you’ve experienced sensitivity in the past or have an allergic reaction to metals.
Care Guide
CASE & BUCKLE
As with any watch or metallic/leather wrist worn product, the warranty does not cover the accidental application of cosmetics/tanning agents/perfumes or any other chemicals. These will cause the discolouration of any metallic or leather surface that they make contact with.
LEATHER STRAP
As with any leather product (like shoes) when you first wear your new fte watch, the strap will start off firm but will become more supple within a couple of days of use, and will mould to your wrist shape.
We would recommend trying one looser hole should you find any discomfort during the first few days of use.
As with any light coloured garment or accessory, our lighter coloured leather straps may over time naturally patina, just like a loved pair of shoes or favourite sofa.
Placing Your Order
HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?
To place an order you choose the item that you wish to purchase and add it to your shopping cart. Then, proceed to the checkout page where you fill in your personal information as well as pay for the order. WAS MY ORDER SUCCESSFUL?
There’s a few ways you can tell - firstly you should have a confirmation email to the address you provided when you ordered and secondly, as with most retailers, the general rule of thumb is: if we’ve taken the money from your account, then your order has been successful.
If you have any doubts or haven’t received your confirmation email, don’t hesitate to let us know, contact us at hello@freedomtoexist.com.
Watch Setup
HOW DO I CHANGE THE TIME?
