SUNSPEL is a manufacturer of luxury everyday clothing. It’s what they have done since 1860 and remains at the heart of everything they do today. From the very beginning it has been their ambition to make clothes to the highest possible standard and to offer true value.
Thomas Arthur Hill founded SUNSPEL at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. His father, John Pinkerton Hill, was a hosiery maker in Nottingham and Thomas followed his father into the hosiery and lace trade. He was not only one of the great early British industrialists but also a fabric innovator. His vision to create simple, everyday clothing from beautiful fabrics continues to be the SUNSPEL philosophy today.
The SUNSPEL name has been synonymous with the quintessential style of James Bond ever since they tailored one of their original polo shirts for Daniel Craig to wear in his role as 007 in Casino Royale. They also created the iconic pale blue shorts worn by Sean Connery in Thunderball, 1965, the go-to for any man in search of impeccable Riviera style.
