you don't need more traffic - you're not using the traffic you've got

almost every growth conversation in ecommerce starts the same way: how do we get more traffic. more ads, more seo, more reach. it feels like progress because it's measurable and you can spend money on it tomorrow.

but traffic is the most expensive lever you can pull, and for a lot of stores it's pulling against a leak.

think about it as a funnel. you pour visitors in the top. some convert. of those, some come back. some buy more than one thing. some tell a friend. if the conversion rate is soft, or the average order is low, or repeat purchase is thin, then more traffic just means more water through a bucket with holes in it. you pay full price for every extra litre and most of it runs out the bottom.

the cheaper question is: what happens to the traffic you already have? if 100 people land and 2 buy, doubling traffic to 200 gets you 4 sales at double the cost. but lifting conversion from 2 to 3 gets you a 50% revenue increase for no extra ad spend at all. one of those is a budget line. the other is an afternoon with your data.

this isn't an argument against ever buying traffic. it's an argument about order of operations. fix the bucket first. a store that converts well, sells more per order, and keeps customers coming back is a store where every new visitor is worth more - which makes the traffic you eventually do buy actually pay off.

we're not an seo agency and we're not a web design studio. we don't rebuild your site or chase rankings. we read the store you already have and find the revenue sitting in it - the conversions you're missing, the baskets that should be bigger, the customers who'd come back if you gave them a reason.

more from what you have, before you go and buy more.
